My searches are not turning up the right actors. What should I do?
If you are looking for a very specific actor, perhaps a Chinese fiddle player, it is possible that there is none on our date base. If possible, simplify OR reduce your search criteria.

What if I am looking for an unusual mix of actors, say, “all female dancers who have appeared in Chicago”?
Such requirements can be quite easily met. Simply click the “Dancer” and “Female” buttons and type in “Chicago” as a Key Word. Then click “Search”

I can't get the showreels to play. Can you offer another format?
Currently we can only offer moving clips in Realplayer, Quicktime and wmv, all of which can easily be downloaded for free.

Are you still looking for new actors for the site?
Certainly. We always welcome new actors as we intend to offer the most comprehensive listing in the UK, in order to attract the best casting directors, jump-starting new acting careers in the process!

What is a Hotlist?
A Hotlist is a simple record of the actors’ profiles that you have found most likely to meet your casting needs. This Hotlist of names can be printed or saved for later consideration.

The images and the showreels (in particular) are slow to come up on my PC. Why?
All image displays are dependent on the power of your PC or iMac and the quality of your broadband connection.

The Actor’s site format seems very basic. Is there no flexibility to add more ‘sexy’ features?
No. The idea is to have all the profiles easy to read. The whole point of the Actors-On-Tap service is to provide a direct, simple way for casting people to match an actor to a casting requirement.

I’ve already got my own website. Do I really need another?
Very possibly you do not need another site. It is entirely up to you, of course. However, having two websites increases your chances of work enormously. And you can provide a link to your original website in your Actors-On-Tap Homepage.

Won’t my profile look just like everyone else’s?
Not really. You can personalise your site by adding creative messages and displaying the best photos and moving images possible. On A-o-T, it is the content, the actor’s talents, that count, not the flamboyant design.

Why is it so cheap for me to get my own site?
Obviously it costs less to create a site using a standard template that does not waste a designer’s time inventing arty bells and whistles that ultimately distract casting directors from your details.

I’ve got image material in formats other than the ones you support. How do I upload it?
We have deliberately targeted the most common formats in order that the Casting Directors (who are after all working for you) will not have to upgrade their systems merely to view an unusual format. Conversion programs to the formats we support are readily available.

Is my A-o-T website available to other actors registered with you?
Yes, but obviously you are the only person who can edit it, using your password.

How can I tell if there is any interest being generated?
Every time you Login to the Edit Your Profile facility, you will see a counter displaying the total number of “hits’ – and the amount of interest in you - since you created your site
